I've been contemplating posting a picture of pure blue sky for a while, but it felt a bit of a cheat so this includes a house martin.
Why do we find blue skies beautiful? Is it the tone, the purity, the depth? Are there cultures that prefer grey skies? And why are blue skies in the winter - which are normally associated with freezing cold conditions just as welcome as blue skies like this one associated with warm summer days?
