Went to Westonbirt Arboretum today - first time for probably 35 years. Funnily enough there were lots of trees!
This one is rather special - it's more of a thicket than a single tree but it is a single organism and is over 2000 years old - courtesy of traditional methods of woodland management.
It's kind of odd to stand in the middle of a group of trees and realise that they were there when Julius Caesar invaded Britain Tried to catch something of the feel of the thicket with this shot - it was kind of insulating and protecting and just towered around us. Difficult to capture, but worth a try.
