I've often wondered how little light you really need for an effective photo - and on the basis of this one I guess the answer is not much. The only light on the face of the church is from the hotel lights across the road - it was almost too dark to focus manually - leave alone automatically.
I've seen this setting on the camera described as 'unusable' in a review. Guess it depends on what you're hoping to achieve.
